Columbia River Gorge, Washington and Oregon

The boys were out of propane so took a drive over towards Trout Lake during snow fall to the ACE Hardware store to fill up their tanks. Propelled by a coke and free popcorn they were back at their land having to carry the heavy tanks down their snowed-in long driveway towards the river, Cliffhanger and trailer. Daily Sir Thomas Leaf and Lady Etain were getting stuck in the snow and ice, often needing help from a passerby. They began snow shoveling pieces of the concrete near the road so they could park their car safely just inside the white line and keeping the back wheels on pavement.

The adventurers then headed into White Salmon for some books and wifi at the White Salmon library. The internet signal was poor and Sir Thomas kept getting booted off, so they headed down to Subway for a snack and free wifi. Prince Cian met a new friend who played with him almost the entire time they were there, and gifted him some wooden toy cars they were playing with to take home.

Afterwards, the explorers drove up and down the Columbia to pass through several tunnels – another fascinating game of Prince Cian’s who loves how they magically appear. The family chanted “Tunnel … tunnel!  Tunnel! Tunnel!” passing each corner just before they appeaered. They were tempted to go for a walk around some parks, but it was getting dark.

The weary adventurers headed home for a night of reading books, doing inventory, and catching up on TV series they downloaded.
