02.25.11, 02.26.11, 02.27.11, 02.28.11: A Irish birthday

Friday, 25 February 2011 through Monday, 28 February 2011
Colorado Springs, Colorado

After a nice birthday celebration in Denver, Lady Allison and Princess Astranna wanted to take Sir Thomas out for his birthday since they couldn’t do it on the actual date. So after a long day in the lab working on artifacts and the curation manual, the roomies went to Jack Quinn’s Irish Pub downtown Colorado Springs. Lady Allison treated Sir Thomas and Princess Astranna to a delicious Irish feast, Irish dancing and songs, and a good time. They cheered in Sir Thomas’ another cycle around the sun and his upcoming journey Down Under. Sir Thomas had lots on his mind. He will dearly miss Lady Allison and Princess Astranna as he sets off for this new journey.

Prophecy became stronger and stronger as the actual date got closer. It was now nearly a month away when he’ll leave his job at Fort Carson and head to Australia to join the HMB Endeavour during its circum-navigation of Australia.

The remainder of the week was spent 10 hour days in the lab working on data and organizing what he will leave behind to his predecessors. Evenings was spent with the extended family and best friends bonded forever. He new the quest must take place but did not know how it would play out. He cashed in his 401(k) for additional travel funds for the adventure will be expensive.

Mileage: 94
