Colorado Springs, Colorado

Weather: Day – Sunny with a high of 91 °F (32.8 °C). Winds variable at 9 to 14 mph (14.5 to 22.5 kph). Night – Partly cloudy. Winds variable at 7 to 16 mph (11.3 to 25.7 kph). The overnight low will be 62 °F (16.7 °C). Waning Crescent Moon.

Early to rise, Sir Oisin got up around 5 am – finished watching Marvel’s “Cloak and Dagger” as well as “Good Witch”. The Prince didn’t arise until 7:30 am. Dad and son wrestled and did a tickle fest, then began getting ready for work. Dad planned out travel plans for Northern Realms War, and paid Lord Jesse some of rent owed, finishing up payment with next paycheck. Dad had to deal with an ant infestation from the popcorn that they accidentally kicked over in bed last night and the sphinx ants were all over it. They swept it out of the tiny house and sprayed down the floor with disinfectant.

Lord Jesse was willing to watch Prince Cian during the first 2 hour delivery block for Sir Oisin so that the Prince could play with Princess Aine and Princes Kian, Xavier, and Theron since he likely won’t see them for over a week if the adventurers were off to Northern Realms War. Lord Jesse was making French toast for all the kids, Cian included, as dad kicked in bread, eggs, and syrup to the mix. Sir Oisin headed out to IHOP for his first delivery.

Shift 1: Company 1: 9 am – 11 am:

9:14 am was Sir Oisin’s first delivery for the day beginning at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP). IHOP was training a new greeter so she had to check with her supervisor on how deliveries worked. En route to pickup, Oisin stopped at “Kum n Go” convenience store and got himself 2 pancake sausage rolls and a 32 oz pomegranate berry vitamin water for breakfast. It was well needed as he felt queasy for not eating yet. The delivery app got frozen again and wouldn’t let Oisin check “arrived” once at the customer’s house. He got help, but drove home in the interim. He played with the Prince and got some blogging done while awaiting the next call. As the next request was 10:30 am, and Lord Jesse could only watch the Prince until 11:30, he decided to take the Prince with him on this run. Oisin headed off with the Prince earlier, so that Lord Jesse only had to watch him for 45 minutes. He couldn’t watch him after 11:30 am as Lord Jesse would be heading off to drop his kids off with their mom. Oisin and the Prince drove off to La Baquette in Old Colorado City and did a pickup with a relatively easy drop-off.

Shift 2: Company 1: 11 am – 1 pm:

The duo had fun and games in the car. The Prince doing a meditation chant song in the back which evolved to a “nanaana” song, and then a “happy birthday to me” song (even though it wasn’t the Prince’s birthday). Simply silly stuff going on. At 11:10 am the duo headed to Qdoba Mexican Eats for the next delivery. Afterwards they were able to stop and play at a playground for 10 minutes together. They then drove over at 11:40 am to Buffalo Wild Wings and picked up two orders. They then delivered the other Buffalo Wild Wings 12:10 pm order – as a dual delivery request. Afterwards they hit a garage sale. There was nothing they wanted, but the guy was selling powerade for $1, so since he received a $5 tip from his neighbor across the street, went ahead and got himself and the Prince each a bottle. They then sped on over at 12:42 pm to IHOP for the final delivery of the scheduled shift.

Shift 3: Company 1: 1 pm – 3 pm:

At 1:16 pm they headed to Famous Dave’s BBQ then at 1:52 pm over to Jersy Mike’s Subs. After the Jersey Mike’s delivery, they grabbed some cherry ice slush drinks at “Kum n’ Go” convenience store, filled up the gas tank, to which the Prince danced to the exterior speaker’s music swinging around the squeegee while washing the car for dad. It was too cute Sir Oisin thought. Just as they were pulling out of the convenience store, Lady Etain called the Prince to chat. They chatted for about 5 minutes until the Prince was bored and refused to talk further. At 2:42 pm they drove over to Pho-nomenal and finished up the delivery shift.

Shift 4: Company 1: 3 pm – 5 pm:

They got their next request to Il Vicino Wood Oven Pizza at 3:32 pm. They had 20 minutes to spare before pickup so dropped by the downtown fountain so that the Prince could splash and play. He thought it was too cold, so they headed on. The ghost buster mobile parked next to them. Seemed not as good as the old, they just rigged up a small compact car instead of a hearse/ambulance car sedan. They were already at their guaranteed quota for the day so could turn down low rate requests. They got one at 4:18 pm from Burger King, it listed “no tip”, and less than $4 delivery compensation – so Oisin rejected the offer. He knows that affects his ratings, but c’est la vie. The delivery fee wouldn’t even compensate for a tank of gas with his MPG the Ford Explorer gets. They pretty much instantly got a new larger fee request from Romano’s Macaroni Grill at 4:22 pm. The single mom waitress there tried to get the Prince to talk with her, often giving him cookies. But shy ol’ Prince Cian wouldn’t and just remained bashful. That was the last delivery for the day. They then pit stopped at the playground at a school, played chase and rampaged the slide, swings, and spinner.

It remained well into the 90’s degrees even at 6 pm. Oisin was so glad that the Air conditioning in the car still works albeit the heater valve doesn’t. They did a decent day of deliveries, pretty much back to back as far as deliveries go, with numerous breaks for play. Oisin noticed though he was making the same doing a scheduled 6 hour shift as he was an 8 hour shift. He needs to figure out how it all works out to maximize profit ad productivity.

After work, the duo headed to Tinseltown using their Movie Pass to see “Adrift”. They grabbed drinks for the movie – the Prince had a chocolate shake, and Sir Oisin a Vanilla Bean Starbucks Frappacino. The movie captivated each of them, although the Prince got a bit restless and didn’t like the end of the movie because he thought it was too sad. A true story it was, a couple sailing a ship from Australia to California get thrown into a hurricane strength storm that demolishes the boat. The surviving woman loses her husband and goes adrift, the tale sharing her survival, hallucinations, and struggle. It was eye-opening and heart-impacting romance gone tragedy. Oisin being part seaman, enjoyed it. The survival aspect, the Prince enjoyed.

After the movie, the adventurers hit the Home Depot to pickup supplies for the cargo trailer shelves that broke. The Prince was so excited to go into a “real” tool store, that he badly wanted a real tool. He couldn’t make up his mind on what he wanted so dad didn’t buy him anything. This led to a meltdown because the Prince really wanted something (as he does any store they enter) and Dad trying to teach him that he only gets to buy things on Fridays when he gets his allowance.

The duo headed home, the Prince got over his meltdown, and they played with legos together. Dad made chicken, fries, veggies, and ramen soup for dinner. The Prince of course only ate the chicken, fries, and ramen. Oisin struggles to get the Prince to eat veggies outside of potatoes. They drank Arizona Mango Juice Tea over dinner.

They then went into the main house for their bath, returning to the tiny house to watch Sponge Pants Bob and the Hairy Tooth Fairy. They both passed out shortly afterwards as they had a long day.
