02.08.11, 02.09.11, 02.10.11, 02.11.11: Treasures and Wares

Tuesday, 8 February 2011 through Friday, 11 February 2011
Colorado SpringsDenver, Colorado

Sir Thomas spent most of the week doing his daily grind – writing the Curation Facility and GIS manual for his employer and co-workers, processing GIS data from the field, mapping archaeological sites and isolated finds at the two military bases, and getting artifacts into the Past Perfect Museum Database software. Essentially fourty hour plus weeks ranging from 8-10 hour days. It was quite routine, he’d drive from Lady Allison’s onto base, work in the lab, hike and survey in the field, often take a hike during the day at Cheyenne Mountain State Park or Red Rocks Canyon, then return home. He helped Lady Allison with her daughter Princess Astranna when she got home from high school. They would have dinners, some afternoons Sir Thomas went to his RV in storage to sort through his possessions and condense his material remains before departing for his journey Down Under and off to Cornwall. He also had a booth space at the Treasure Shoppe in downtown Colorado Springs where he was selling off some of his merchandise.

Having his goods as consignments in the antique and gift mall was sometimes prosperous, but often didn’t even make rent. So condensing his treasures and stashing them into the RV was also a priority at the time. He nonetheless enjoyed displaying his wares and having somewhere central where his customers could go.

Most of the week had cold snowy weather patterns with snow drifting. The roads were tricky and full of black ice. Driving was treacherous but didn’t stop his progress, just delayed it.

Mileage: 84
