Dv8
515 Davie Street
Vancouver, British Columbia V6E 1N3
A underground-styled hang out joint popular amongst the hip Vancouverite scene. Good food, slow service, but an excellent place to hang out if you are interested in hanging out. Comes with an art gallery which changes every week or two displaying some of Vancouver’s best alternative artwork. With a serving station styled after a djbooth you can find some of the most intriguing and raunchy named drinks you can think of off its menu. The food has the same flavor. It’s an excellent venue.

“A good evening of jazz, funk, and cool tunes. Great art. BC Roll was good, wasabi poor. Long Island Ice Tea was warming and tasty. Service was faster than usual. Friendly staff, excellent atmosphere. Good night.” Rated: ****1/2

“A fabulous little hole-in-the-wall, Dv8 was open after Luvfair had closed and offered me some good late night snacks. I walked in past a few clubbers loitering in front of the door, into this dark, artsy, alternative-radio-station decor pub that had quite a few customers dining within. I passed a scrawled sign stating to seat yourself, which I did. After a moment of not being noticed, I decided to go up to what was decorated like a dj booth and asked the charming woman behind the counter if they were open for a bit longer, to which she replied yes. I asked for a menu and sat down. Having decided what to order, I realized once again I was not very noticed and wondering if I should go and get food elsewhere when the waitress came up and asked if I was ready to order. I ordered the Burger which came with Cajun potato fries, and a coke. It took no time at all for it to be served – a quite natural patty with all the toppings on a bun. It was a feast most welcome and was quite delicious. Not as fabulous as Hamburger Mary’s it has of now been rated my second favorite burger joint downtown. Two baby bottles filled with ketchup and dressings, my eyes wandered around gazing at the art deco decor intrigued by this wonderful place. After dinner I interac’ted out and took a stroll down the street.”
