Chronicles: 9/6/10 – The Road Home From the Burn

Monday on the Road From The Burn 2010:
Travelling Across the Desert homeward bound to Colorado

Monday, 6 September 2010

* Nevada to Colorado, United States of America *

Early to rise after a good rest and sleep after a crazy night of driving, Sir Thomas Leaf was back on the road taking I-80 east towards Utah. A pitstop at the Casino buffet in Wendover just before crossing into Utah. He also purchased a new power steering belt as it would have been easy to slip the new belt over the pulleys, but one of the pulleys was locked up. The “Isis Adventure through Time” vardo however, steered fine without the belt, so was put on the backburner for another day. Onwards across the Great Salt Lake Desert, he was passing by where his friend Heidi lives, called her for a meetup, but unfortunately she was away on a family outing for Labor Day. Driving into Salt Lake City, Sir Thomas Leaf dropped by Lady Katte’s abode for some Labor Day celebrating and help looking over the engine to see if everything was okay without fixing the belt. Lady Katte pulled out her tools, dug into the engine, and found it would be fine without a fix. Towards evening, Sir Thomas Leaf had to hit the road and was back on the trail through Utah onwards through Wyoming into the darkness of the night. He arrived in Colorado Springs around 3 am. Exhausted, he didn’t even bother unpacking the vardo, but rather just went right to sleep as he would have to awake at 6 am for work that day in the laboratory.
