Lo (R: 2009)

Lo (R: 2009 )

Director: Travis Betz. Starring: Jeremiah Birkett … Lo, Sarah Lassez … April, Ward Roberts … Justin, Devin Barry … Jeez, Aaron Gaffey … Waiter, Sarah Larissa Deckert … The Demon Rat, and others.
Presented here is a horror-comedy of a love-struck occult novice who stumbling upon the Book of the Dead and finds a way to summon a Demon to find his lost-love that was stolen from his embrace by another Demon. Hoping that she can be found in the bowels of Hell, Justin finds a comical yet disturbing history around his love April. Using the Demon named “Lo” he finds the truth about April. He also has to battle “Lo’s” dinner plans for him.
It definitely has its merits and for the most part capitivates your attention, especially if you are a horror fan like me that enjoys horror-comedy elements. It is a B-rate film, though and that can be seen in some of the film/audio editing – otherwise for a low budget some of the effects, imagery, and costuming were pretty fantastic. Regardless, it was an enjoyable late night flick … I’d watch it again. Rating: 3 stars out of 5.
