La Baguette (Colorado Springs, Colorado)

La Baguette – Old Colorado City
~ 2417 W Colorado Ave, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80904 ~ labaguette-co.com ~

A great little taste of France right in the heart of Old Colorado City. La Baguette bakery has fine sandwiches, soups, and baked goods – fresh, aromatic, and divine. Place gets a bit busy which slows down dining time, but worth the wait. Its a local charm. Always enjoyed my dining there – food is grand, service is friendly, and experience perfect.

Punalu’u Bake Shop

http://www.bakeshophawaii.com/ * Route 11 * Na`alehu (Big Island), Hawai`i 96772 * 1-866-366-3501 *
The most notorious “Southern-most Bakery in the United States” at Latitude 19ş North of the Equator, is the Punalu’u Bake Shop off Route 11. An excellent stop off after seeing the sea turtles and black sand beaches in the area. The bakery specializes in Hawaiian Sweet Break which was introduced via Portugese sugar plantation workers in the 19th century. The Bake shop has adopted this import as their speciality, enhanced by their own traditional family recipe which takes 5 hours to produce. This Bakery was established in 1991 on the site of a former sugar plantation owner’s home. Upon my 8/8/09 visit, I had the pleasure of savoring the sweatbread as well as their donuts and orange slushie. Yum! Rating: 4 stars out of 5.

Fresh bread from the German bakery

Sunday, 29 March 2009
Dusseldorf, Germany

Lady Vanessa of the Rhine awoke the adventuring party after a good night’s rest. Sir Thomas Leaf was a bit hard to get out of bed as he was up until 6 am blogging and researching the elements of the quest. Princess Brea joined Lady Vanessa down the street to the bakery for freshly baked bread, rolls, and croissants so that the adventurers could have a good healthy breakfast before the start of their quest. Croissants, rolls, bread, tea, coffee, yogurt, ham, cheese, jelly, butter, hard boiled eggs, juice, and milk welcomed all and lured Sir Christian out of his den.
