Fractured Prune Donuts (Denver)

Fractured Prune Donuts
~ 9696 E Arapahoe Rd, Greenwood Village, CO 80112 (Denver, Colorado) ~ (303) 759-0635 ~ https://fracturedprune.com/ ~

A great little hole-in-the-wall donut shop located in a Greenwood Village strip mall off Arapahoe. I discovered it whilst doing food deliveries for a company I contract with. After making several deliveries of the unique pastries, I decided I had to try them for myself. I went back the evening of March 31st, 2018 and ordered a half a dozen. They were hot, delicious, and tantalizing. This counter-serve pit stop for hand-made, freshly created donuts where you decide the toppings you want. They also have coffee, juice, and drinks available. You can watch the process from a window into their donut machine, and watch the donut specialist make the donuts for you. Delicious and well worth the price as well as experience.

Punalu’u Bake Shop

Punalu’u Bake Shop

The most notorious “Southern-most Bakery in the United States” at Latitude 19ş North of the Equator, is the Punalu’u Bake Shop off Route 11. An excellent stop off after seeing the sea turtles and black sand beaches in the area. The bakery specializes in Hawaiian Sweet Break which was introduced via Portugese sugar plantation workers in the 19th century. The Bake shop has adopted this import as their speciality, enhanced by their own traditional family recipe which takes 5 hours to produce. This Bakery was established in 1991 on the site of a former sugar plantation owner’s home. Upon my 8/8/09 visit, I had the pleasure of savoring the sweatbread as well as their donuts and orange slushie. Yum! Rating: 4 stars out of 5.

A nice little coffee and pastry stop on Highway 50 in the small town of Penrose, Colorado. Old West flavor and style, this little den will suit your highway awakening needs and sensiate your palates with tasty goodies. One of my favorite pitstops in the area. Also has local art and crafts. Definite place to stop. Rating: 4 stars out of 5.
